Emergency First Response
Emergency First Response Primary including CPR and Secondary Care First aid are great skills for anyone to have!
Would you know what to do if a work colleague or family member collapsed? The EFR course is designed to give you these skills, and the confidence to deal with medical emergencies – as administer the correct care while the emergency services arrive.
1. Course overview
In most cases, we’ll complete the course at our hub over the course of the day. If you have sufficient numbers, we can also visit offices and other work premises to carry out training there too.
You’ll complete the theory at your own pace via e-Learning beforehand, then practice practical skills with our instructors to provide basic emergency care in different scenarios.
There is no specific minimum age requirement for this course, and you don’t have to be a diver to take it – but you will need to have taken it in the past 24 months in order to complete the PADI Rescue Diver diver course.
2. What you'll learn
Emergency First Response training is learning serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment. You gain the confidence that you are prepared to help in an emergency. Skills include:
BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use (optional)
Preventing and caring for shock
Spinal injury management
Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations
3. Equipment
We’ll provide all the necessary equipment and props necessary for this course.
4. Learning materials
We will send you the Emergency First Response e-Learning materials, which will teach you the background information you need for the practical skills part of the course. It also allows you to study at your own pace.
You can complete this on pretty much any device with an internet connection.
Once you’ve completed this, you are ready for the rest of the course with us!
Ready to start?
You can book and pay for your course with us online, either for yourself or someone else. We’ll send over any e-Learning content to your email, and we can then work with you on suitable dates and times for any practical sessions.
We have availability throughout the year, although if you have specific dates or a timeline in mind, please check with us first.
Your next adventure...
We have other emergency trianing programs, including an EFR course specifically aimed at the care of children. If you want to kick it up a notch, we also offer EFR Instructor training courses that allow you to teach others in emergency care.
If you’re continuing your dive journey with us, you’ll almost certainly want to be considering the PADI Rescue Diver course next.
