PADI Equipment Specialist
Ever wondered what makes a regulator work? Ever dared to peek inside a second stage? Let our experienced service technicians show you how to care for it!
Whether it’s a missing o-ring, dry suit tear or a broken fin strap, this course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You’ll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.
1. Course overview
There’s no diving required for this course, only a practical classroom session at our dive hub over the course of a few hours. The knowledge development portion will mainly be carried out through PADI e-Learning in your own time.
You already need to be a PADI Scuba Diver diver (or equivilent certification from another training agency), and you need to be at least 12 years old.
2. What you'll learn
Get to see how a regulator works; how they come apart, and how they happily go back together (when you have the right knowledge).
You will also learn what you can do to look after your precious scuba kit, helping to ensure that you don’t miss a dive due to minor issues with your gear. Get hands-on experience making minor equipment repairs and learn about different types of dive gear. Learn how to properly clean and maintain gear, and how to create a save-a-dive kit.
3. Equipment
There’s no diving required for this course, so you won’t need to provide any equipment. For the practical side of things, we’ll provide everything that’s required.
4. Learning materials
We will send you any e-Learning materials needed for your specialty course, which will take you to the registration area of the PADI site. This teaches you the background information you need for your course, and allows you to study at your own pace.
You can complete this on pretty much any device with an internet connection.
Some courses also have physical learning content, which we can give you once you’re enrolled.
Ready to start?
You can book and pay for your course with us online, either for yourself or someone else. We’ll send over any e-Learning content to your email, and we can then work with you on suitable dates and times for any in-person sessions.
We have availability throughout the year, although if you have specific dates or a timeline in mind, please check with us first.
